Design is Thinking
(Owlery)

"Design is thinking" is a project which explores the letter forms and typography through the medium of photography. The typographic element of the work was created through experimentation with different typefaces on a glass panel. These were drawn onto the glass by hand using paint markers. Although the drawing process was relatively fast, the focus of this piece was to explore typography's synchronicity with photography.
It does this through examination of the relationship between typography with nature and the man-made. Four elements were chosen to represent these: beach, trees, brick wall and graffiti. These elements communicate the connection (or in some cases juxtaposition) between typographic forms and the world around us.
